TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION AND SINGLE VEHICLE APPROVAL
The A M EX2 and IMOLA are the result of years of development by two sports
car enthusiasts along with a number of technical specialists in various aspects
of car design with the aim of creating a stunning but useable sportscar capable
of being used daily with the minimum of restrictions usually associated with this
type of vehicle and with reasonable ease of assembly.
The car utilises a semi-backbone/spaceframe chassis incorporating anti-dive
double wishbone suspension all round controlled by coilover shock absorbers
fully adjustable for ride height and damping.The uprights are dedicated aluminium
machined units carrying disc brakes all round and running 7" by 15" diameter
wheels with 195/50 x 15" front and 205/50 x 15" rear tyres.
The engine is a mid-mounted Opel/Vauxhall unit (from the astra or cavalier
2 litre gte ) complete with the f20 Vauxhall transmission with an all up
weight of less than 860 kilograms.
The cooling radiator is front mounted with an electric fan, also up front is room
for a space saver spare wheel and there is a sizeable rear boot aft of the
The doors, bonnet and boot are all double sided self-coloured panels and the doors
accept wind-up or electric drop glasses and all panels lock.
The car incorporates front and rear crumple zones,a steel passenger compartment
roll bar and an up-to-date collapsible steering column included is a modern design
dash assembly which accepts a nice up-to-date dash instruments assembly from a

THE VEHICLE IS FULLY SVA COMPLIANT providing the builder
adheres to the requirements of the regulations. We are able to supply the
key parts which have to be used for the car to be accepted (some have been
specifically manufactured for the EX2). It is recommended that a copy of the
regulations are studied prior to building any kit car and, better still, have your
own copy handy to refer to as you progress .

The current Demo car now has approximately 130 BHP available which
gives it a power-to-weight ratio of around 160 BHP per TON and a new
car is currently being assembled with a 220 BHP engine which should
give a power-to-weight ratio of about 275 BHP per TON.
The 0 - 60 mph time is about 6 seconds with braking taken care of by disc
brakes all round with bias adjustable dual circuit braking as per club level
